Chocolate Banana Milk

 

As I was laying in bed one night last month,I realized that we hadn’t eaten any fruits or vegetables that day. None.  Now granted it had been a crazy,out of the ordinary day. I normally serve at least one fruit or vegetable at both lunch and dinner. But I still felt guilty so I made a renewed commitment towards incorporating even more fresh fruits and vegetables into our diet this year. This Chocolate Banana recipe is a simple,frugal way to accomplish that goal so we’ve drinking it frequently. I’ve also been buying lots of bite fruit like strawberries and blackberries which are easy to serve (and Sunflower Market has had some great sales).

Chocolate Banana Milk

  • 3 ripe (or slightly over-ripe bananas)
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons of sweetener (I use Sucanat but you could use sugar,honey or anything else)

Blend all ingredients in a blender for 30 seconds

Enjoy!

Things to look forward to…

a sneak peek a the Asian Tropics exhibit at the Denver Zoo

If you happen to have those after Christmas blahs (You know that let down after all excitement of the holidays) here are some things to look forward to this year.

It’s going to be an exciting year in Denver. The brand new History Colorado is opening on April 28 and the very long awaited new Asian Tropics exhibit will open at the Denver Zoo on June 1. The Denver Museum of Nature and Science has some great temporary exhibits lined up including a lizard exhibit opening next month. The Denver Art Museum plans to feature a Van Gogh towards the end of the year. And don’t forget Denver Restaurant Week and Denver Arts Week.

I love that there is so much to do in Denver!
